The War Eagle baseball team took on the state ranked Klein Collins Tigers on Shaun Finley Night and took one on the chin in losing 11-4.
The Klein Collins batsmen did not discriminate as they used all corners of the field in spraying 15 hits in all.
For the War Eagles, Tyler Cook hit an opposite field two run blast in the fourth inning to bring the War Eagles back to within five runs. Later in the inning, Connor Sarant hit a sacrifice fly to deep right plating Branden Navarro bringing Oak Ridge to within four runs but it was all for naught as that would conclude the Oak Ridge scoring for the evening. KC tallied another three.
Sarant also scored a run in the first inning after he had drawn a walk to open up the Oak Ridge half. The War Eagles had the bases full with no outs in the inning but Sarant’s run was all they could manage as the Klein Collins pitcher started to find his range.
Branden Navarro had a good night at the plate getting on all three times to include a hit to go along with his passing GO. Matt Burke had a hit and RBI. Dylan Cyr had the other War Eagle hit and Jeremy Dryer scored a run.
Next up for Oak Ridge is the Wharton Classic later in the week.
