Lady War Eagles Rolling, Top Conroe 3-1

The Oak Ridge Lady War Eagles racked up another district win in defeating Conroe Wednesday night, 3-1. On the mound for Oak Ridge was Danielle White and for Conroe,  Christy Dowdy. A pitcher’s duel ensued through three complete innings before Oak Ridge broke through with two runs in the fourth frame.

Taylor Ervin led off with a single followed by a run scoring double by Taylor Duck. White reached on an error by the third baseman which scored Duck for the second run.

Conroe battled in the 6th inning scattering three base hits but only managed to get one run across the plate. The Lady War Eagles scratched one more run in the 6th inning when junior Alayna Ammons reached base on an error by the second baseman. Back to back singles by Lauren Hoffman and Kris Davila brought in Ammons for the third run.

Oak Ridge shut down Conroe in the 7th to earn their second district win in as many games.
