Hobbled Lady War Eagles Spiked by The Woodlands

Oak Ridge volleyball traveled across the highway to take on the number five state-ranked The Woodlands Highlanders and found the Lady Highlanders state ranking to be completely legit as our ladies fell 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-22).

The Lady War Eagles improved every game but couldn’t get over the hump against the 5-A powerhouse. The Woodlands (6-0, 26-2) are now undefeated through the first half of district play as Oak Ridge (25-8, 3-3) fell to the 500 mark.

Victoria Harris led Oak Ridge with eight kills as the hobbled Lady War Eagles are looking more like a MASH unit giving their all in their effort to make the 14-5A playoffs.

Madison McDaniel led The Woodlands with 10 kills.

Oak Ridge travels to Bryan for a huge 14-5A tilt on Tuesday at 6pm. The Woodlands is at home against Conroe.

Doug Sarant, Oak Ridge Now

Born and raised in New England, Doug promises he got to Texas as fast as he could. He earned the much needed "piece of paper" from Sam Houston State, proving to himself he could start and finish something. Doug's interests include coaching and playing any sport and still plays lacrosse competitively. He also enjoys going to dinner theaters, though he complains there just aren't enough of them in the area. Doug was brought up in a cultured environment, having suffered through dozens of symphonies and operas with his way too over-educated mother. At the end of the day, Doug is just a dad and husband and claims to be good at both.
