The Lady War Eagle volleyball team traveled to Bryan to take on the Lady Vikings and pitched a shutout, 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-17).

With this huge victory to start the second half of District 14-5A action, the Oak Ridge volleyballers upped their overall record to 26-8, but more importantly moved their district record to 4-3 putting them in the thick of the 14-5A playoff race

Victoria Harris led all killers with 12 and Lauren Fernandez chipped in 9. Libero, Whitney Wofford scraped up 19 digs and Jackie Ward sent 5 blurs past Bryan.

Next up is College Park at home on Friday. The last meeting was a disappointment as the Lady War Eagles let a win slip away in the fifth set. They’ll be ready for revenge come Friday.

Let’s pack the house on Friday!

See you with your wrecking crew hats on!!

Doug Sarant, Oak Ridge Now

Born and raised in New England, Doug promises he got to Texas as fast as he could. He earned the much needed "piece of paper" from Sam Houston State, proving to himself he could start and finish something. Doug's interests include coaching and playing any sport and still plays lacrosse competitively. He also enjoys going to dinner theaters, though he complains there just aren't enough of them in the area. Doug was brought up in a cultured environment, having suffered through dozens of symphonies and operas with his way too over-educated mother. At the end of the day, Doug is just a dad and husband and claims to be good at both.
