The third annual Operation Graduation Texas Hold ‘Em tournament is scheduled to be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 7:00 pm on Friday, February 25th. All proceeds from the event benefit Oak Ridge High School’s Operation Graduation, a drug and alcohol free event for seniors and guests after graduation.
Graduation night is traditionally one of the most deadly nights for teenagers celebrating their big event. Operation Graduation provides a safe place for them to celebrate with their friends.
The annual event promises a good time for all in attendance. The dealers are very friendly and willing to help the players, so no need to stay away if you are inexperienced. In past years, players who had never before played and made it to the top 10. Everyone loves it when fish draw a back door flush.
The event is open to Oak Ridge area residents, families, friends and business associates. It provides folks with an opportunity to donate to a good cause and enjoy a night’s entertainment. Food and beverages are provided. Students are welcome to attend, as there will be no alcohol served, and no real gambling will occur. You can expect the whole thing to conclude by 10:30 pm.
The prize for winning first place this year is a shotgun. Really. Other tournament prizes include an Apple iPad, a 32″” LCD television, a GPS system, and a $150 MasterCard gift card.
Raffle tickets will be available at the event for $1.00 (or six for $5.00). Raffle prizes this year include a Kindle reader, a Blu-Ray DVD player, an Apple iPod Touch, a woman’s leather business case, a $75 Jiffy Lube gift card, a $100 Shell gift card, and gift certificates for restaurants and massages.
A $100 donation to Oak Ridge High School’s Operation Graduation is required to attend the event. The Knights of Columbus Hall is located at 29327 South Plum Creek Drive, a little south of Rayford Road.
